Symantec developes a forecast 'worm report' Program
Are you ready for the next worm to hit? Symantic has developed a really cool program that simulates the life of an internet worm from first infection to final patch.
You never know you may just see this cool little FREE program on TV when it does happen.
Worm Simulator is a a free download and shows a 3D image of the globe rotating and one of a corporate network. As infection starts the globe will show red hot spots where major infections are present and then turn yellow when that area has been patched.
This nifty little worm simulator comes with six worms and their relation to how they affected all computers around the globe.
The worms include: Blaster, SoBig, Netsky, Sasser, MyDoom, and Slammer. It took some time for Slammer to really cause an affect but it was also working in minutes and not hours and days unlike others mentioned.
The Symantic Worm Simulator is an updated version of the VBSim program Symantec released in 1997.
You got to check this out if you have a couple minutes to blow.
